PSCA International organisers of SciTech Europe are pleased to announce that Professor Fotis Kafatos, FMRS President of the European Research Council and Chairman of its Scientific Council is the latest high profile speaker to confirm as taking part in SciTech Europe 2009, taking place on the 12th November 2009 at The Square in Brussels.

SciTech Europe is a one day networking conference aimed at the Science and Technology Sector from around the world and promises to bring together leading industry stakeholders, academic experts and key policy makers to outline a collaborative approach to European science and technology frameworks

The conference will be attended by up to 300 delegates from across Europe and the wider scientific and technology community and offers those taking part a fantastic opportunity to create new networks, promote debate and propose a better understanding of how initiatives can benefit science and technology strategies, knowledge and prosperity.

The conference will be chaired by Professor John Wood CBE FREng, Senior International Advisor, Imperial College London (confirmed)

• Professor Dominique Foray, Chairman of Knowledge for Growth Group (confirmed): The Role of the European Research Area
• Commissioner Dr Janez Potocnik, European Commissioner for Science and Research, European Commission (invited): Establishing a European Science Base
• Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Health (invited): The development of innovative health solutions in Europe
• Carlo Rizzuto, European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures (invited): The development of unique infrastructures to support technological innovations

There will also be an interactive panel debate on the theme of 'How can we create the conditions to allow science and technology to flourish'
