As in previous years, you may apply with your own, independent work, which discusses the results (completed research block)

As in the most recent conference, you are given the opportunity to apply with research that builds on the hypothesis, that has a developed methodology, but does not yet have results (research plan block)

To enter TUDOK 2022 you must complete an online form available at www.kutdiak.hu. On the form you must indicate whether you wish to compete in the “completed research block” or the “research plan block”. Please note that with you can only apply to one block per research project.

A., Completed research block

General information:

Similarly to previous years, you may apply for the “completed research block” of TUDOK 2022 with your own work, which must be based solely on scientific research without restrictions on the topic. Students applying with art or other non-scientific projects will be rejected. Only the students who obtained their maturation certificates in 2021 or those receiving it after 2021 are eligible to compete. There is no minimum age.

During the first round (written round), abstracts submitted at the same time as the entry form will be judged by an expert jury, and a notification will be sent within ten days after the application period which will contain the decision on which thematic conference the student can partake based on the field of their research. In each section of the thematic conferences a maximum nine, in the case of section merge, maximum thirteen entries can be present.

During the second round, the contestants present their work at the conference in an online sphere. One presentation may have no more than two authors.

Based on the results of the pre-selection conferences the organizers compose the sections for the third round, the Carpathian Basin Final. In each section maximum nine, in the case of section merge, maximum thirteen entries can be present.

The formal requirements of the Abstract (first round):

During the first round, the abstract of the research must be uploaded to the online system, based on which the research is evaluated. Following the evaluation of the abstract by an expert committee the research will be categorised into sections. The abstract can be a minimum of 1200 and a maximum of 2000 characters (with spaces included). Those students whose research projects are in the early stages at the time of application, and thus cannot upload an abstract, must upload a research plan instead (minimum 500 characters). The research plan only indicates the intention to enter but does not qualify as an application. In case a research plan is submitted, the deadline for uploading the abstract is January 15, 2022. If the title of the research plan differs from the title of the abstract, a request must be submitted by email to kutdiak@kutdiak.hu, which will be evaluated by the Hungarian Research Student Association within three days.

Aspects of the evaluation of the research in the “completed research block”:

The presentations will be evaluated by an expert jury at both the pre-selection and the Carpathian Basin Final conferences. The scientific works are evaluated on the basis of the research projects’ factuality and quality.
